CARRIE DRAKE

Principal Consultant

Carrie Drake champions the best for people. She relentlessly drives to connect communities from inspiring women to have louder voices to linking technologies and missions, shaping the best outcomes based on collective goals. She has driven grass roots initiatives to formal organization constructs in the geospatial technology and intelligence community industries.

Originally from a small town in central Kentucky, Carrie graduated from the University of Kentucky. In 2004 she began working for her first nonprofit organization as membership coordinator. In her more than 10 year career as an association professional, she gained experience in membership services, event coordination, volunteer management & engagement, program development, communications, and outreach. Through her experience with the United States Geospatial Intelligence Foundation (USGIF), Carrie was able to make the leap from non-profit management into the government contracting industry.

In 2015 Carrie joined OGSystems, an innovative solutions provider with advanced technologies in geospatial intelligence, big data analytics, and threat mitigation, as the company's first Director of Marketing & Communications. OGSystems’ core defense and intelligence customers included the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA), the National Reconnaissance Office (NRO), and Special Operations Command (SOCOM). She led a small team of  incredibly talented marketing, communications, and creative professionals and together they elevated the company's brand and message. In 2019, OGSystems was acquired by Parsons

After supporting the OGSystems acquisition and assisting with the integration into Parsons, Carrie moved into the commercial satellite industry serving as Director of Government Marketing at both Planet Federal and Maxar.

Passionate about the value of networking to build a community, Carrie has served in leadership roles for several volunteer organizations, including as a board member and co-chair of the Next Gen Council for the Northern Virginia Chamber of Commerce, founding member of the grassroots group, the Amazing Women of the IC (AWIC), and President of Women in Technology (WIT).
